Hi John, Welcome to the Polish Texans forum. Traffic on this forum is a little slower then on Jaga's forum and I really appreciate your participation.
Thanks also for your service to our great country. My grandfather was a Marine during WWI and my Dad served in the Navy during WWII.

An original 'Devil Dog'. Wow!!! And a swab jockey too. OK !!!!!You of course know that the US Marine Corps is part of the Department of the Navy. But we were led to believe that the USMC is the men's department of the Navy. That should get a lively conversation going!!!!!!!

Well, my Dad told me a thing or two about the Marines he served with but most of it was not too complimentary ;D
Dad was an aircraft electrician with a CASU unit. He spent most of his time on aircraft carriers and various small islands in the South Pacific. He told me that they bombed the islands from the air first, then the Marines went in, wiped out the enemy and secured the island. The CASU unit went in with the Seabees and helped build the airstrips and hangers and then went to work on maintaining the planes.
