Thought it would interesting and helpful to some to know what names have "anglecized" to here in Texas. Here are a few that I am aware of... And I am not 100% sure on all spellings so I may get some wrong but hopefully close. Also know that I could be wrong..,these are just observations I have made talking to old folks and doing my own family geneology.I ask that you all correct and\or add to the list: Marszalek = Marshall Noszkret = Noske\Noski Niedzwiedz = Nesbit Nowakowski= Novakosky Filipiak = Phillips Szturemski=Storemski Graczyk=Grochett Szybist=Shibest Kolodzejczak=Kologinczak Mikolajczak=McCloskey Ciegelski=Siegle Bochnia=Buckner Grzygorek=Gregory Liszka=Fox Wietrczykowski=Wishkoski Wisniewski=Wisnoski\Winoski\Wisniske Bielamowicz=Biel Cieselski=Sechelski Jargodzinski=Yargo Gorka=Gurka Janczak=Yanchak Wilkanowski=Wilganowski Szubrych-Schubrich Wasilewski=Miller Kedziora=Kenjura Warchol=Warhol Bijanski=Bienski Paszkiet=Pasket Szmyt=Smith Lechowski=Lehoski Zywert=Zievert Cwiuk=Shook Cwik=Swick Muszynski=Mushinski Burzynski=Bashinski Gorney=Goodney\Garney

Hi I was wondering if anyone knew of the surname Woitena. That is how it is spelled now but have seen some records of it possibly being Wojtena or Wojtyna. My grandfather was born in St Hedwig Tx. But it is his father that seems to have 3 different spellings.

I am not familiar with the name but I am pretty sure the proper Polish spelling would be Wojtyna.
